The objectives are to enhance the IPP-BAS Grid cluster, improve the access to the IPP-BAS network facilities in terms of bandwidth and Quality of Service, and train young scientists to study and work in the resulting advanced technological environments. Two tasks are planned:

• Task6.1: Computing and Network Infrastructure Upgrading. This task comprises the specification of the needed equipment, organizing the acquirement through a public tender procedure, deployment of new (and upgrading of the existing) hardware and software, and maintenance of the installed equipment.
• Task6.2: e-Science using Grid technologies. A number of young scientists (PhD students and post-docs) will be trained to use the advanced computing, Grid, and networking technologies, deployed in IPP-BAS.
